Info on the Venue

The bustling capital of Hartford, Connecticut will be the location in October 2008 for the 5th Annual Tournament of Champions hosted by ACS Tournaments. This gateway to New England sits among rolling hills along the Connecticut River as it winds its way to the Atlantic Ocean. The revitalization of the riverfront in downtown Hartford has brought recreational vibrance to this urban setting. Long walking trails, a contemporary performing arts amphitheatre, water sports and plentiful activities attract sportsmen and families alike to the river oasis.

The Connecticut River fishery is noted for abundant freshwater species such as northern pike, bass, catfish, perch, bluegill, walleye, and of course, carp. The 400-plus mile river winds its way from headwaters in Canada to the salt water of Long Island Sound and provides a prolific carp habitat of shallow bays and estuaries for spawning as well as bountiful natural food sources. Expect large specimens in your net during this 72-hour ultra-challenge tournament.

The ease of driving to Hartford via I-95 and I-90 will make this venue accessible by automobile for anglers on the East Coast. Bradley International Airport serves the metro-Hartford region with 300 domestic and international flights each day. Nearby major airports in Boston and New York City are alternate options. Fall foliage can be breathtaking this time of year and an influx of "leaf peepers" can make securing hotel space a challenge so ACS Tournaments has secured a block of rooms to insure availability for lodging.
