Mike was introduced to fishing before he can even remember. Some of the best memories he has are bream and walleye fishing with his father. He eventually progressed to bass fishing and started entering local bass tournaments. Upon moving to Texas, he spent my summers as a deck hand on several different private charter boats in the Gulf. This is where his passion for hard fighting big fish set in. One day while white bass fishing out on Lake Grapevine he ran into a couple of fishermen who are now part of the Lone Star Carp Brigade, who then proceeded to take him under their wings and show him the ropes of carp fishing. As they could attest, upon catching his first 5lb. carp he was hooked! Now, he is a member of the Lone Star Carp Brigade, and has transferred over to fishing primarily for carp. Mike participated in the Lone Star Tournament Trail, and placed second in the first leg of the trail.
Krista did not fish much until she got her job as an aquarium tech, taking care of the freshwater fish exhibit for Cabela’s in Ft. Worth, Texas. She got tired of people bringing in fish for exhibit, so she decided to begin fishing herself. She immediately met some of the members of the Lone Star Carp Brigade and became an instant carper. Now, she is a proud member of the Lone Star Carp Brigade, and fishes whenever she can. She participated in the Lone Star Tournament Trail, and is constantly exploring new waters.
